Lightology

Brand Development, Publication Design

Lightology is one of the world’s premier lighting showrooms, based in Chicago, with a strong international online presence. Over the course of several years, we have been working together to expand their brand language. In addition to the core brand elements like fonts, colors, layout, and graphics, this process also included developing branded photography. The goal was to create a look that is cohesive for the several brands that Lightology carries. With a focus on color and texture we created a unique look for photography and publication design in the form of a Lookbook in 2021.

Since then, the branded photography direction has expanded to the art direction of life-like renderings and curation of vendor photography for additional brand deliverables like emails, print ads, social + web graphics, and more. This came to life in the next volume of the Lightology Lookbook in 2022. Both volumes can be viewed below, in addition to a range of branded assets we've created over the years for the brand.

Additionally, we worked to develop and enhance Lightology's brand guides to create a robust system that allowed for us to build out this Lookbook and additional brand applications — through color, typography, and layout.

In 2022, we translated the Lookbook look & feel to accommodate custom renderings in an effort to showcase more product and spaces.

In addition to designing Lightology's Lookbooks and numerous catalogs, we have spent the last several years refining and expanding the brand guidelines across a multitude of deliverables. An extensive look at our partnership can be seen here.
